Ender’s Game shouldn’t work as a movie. The Orson Scott Card book has a repetitive plot with overly complicated character arcs. The space battle sequences are unfathomably mammoth. It was a back and forth, up and down, battle between the Mohawk Mountaineers and St. Clair Saints at the David Braley Athletic and Recreation Centre (DBARC) Saturday night as  the Mohawk women’s volleyball team was able to secure a 3-2 win.
After losing their first set 18-25, Mohawk battled back and dominated the second and third sets, winning them 25-11 and 25-19. Although the fourth set was a close duel, Mohawk found themselves trailing by a couple of points for most of the set, with St. Clair coming out on …

From the moment Michael Burgess stepped out on stage at Mohawk’s MacIntyre Performing Arts Centre, the eyes of the audience were fixed on him. Many in the audience wondered why the popular singer would choose to conceal himself behind a ball cap and a pair of black sunglasses. It wasn’t until the spotlight adjusted on him that they could see half his face was disfigured.

Any hockey club faced with their captain being injured and not in the lineup for an elongated period, coupled with the loss of their top scorer would be struggling. But the Hamilton Red Wings, only needed time to acclimate their game through a surprising depth of scoring that has miraculously materialized.
