The Mohawk Women’s Basketball team kept up their winning ways as they cruised to a 66-31 victory over the visiting Cambrian Golden Shield at the David Braley Athletic and Recreation Centre.
“We need to capitalize on our plays and make our foul shots,” said Mohawk guard Carissa Browne before the game.
“I think that’s what did it for our last game. We had opportunities and moments when we could’ve taken advantage of the win but we didn’t because of lapses like that.”

The Hamilton Red Wings took to the ice Monday night to take on the Stouffville Spirit. The Spirit, coming off a 2-0 loss to Georgetown, came out strong and their intense offence kept most of the first period action in Hamilton’s end. Despite the pressure, both teams were unable to find their way onto the scoreboard after one.
Stouffville drew first blood in the second period, when Nick Thomakos jumped on a juicy rebound from Hamilton’s net minder Corey Foster.

With just his guitar and his captivating voice, all eyes were on Marcio Novelli at The Casbah on Monday night. Novelli has been nominated for two Hamilton Music Awards this year: Adult Alternative Recording of the Year, and Local Group of the Year by People’s Choice.

The first rule of sequels is to turn up everything from the action to the humour, and in this Thor: The Dark World succeeds exceptionally well.
