Bear-ly the same?
The classic Disney film, Winnie the Pooh has been around since the 1920’s and has transformed in many ways throughout history. The Disney classic is about the many adventures of a boy and his best friend, that happens to be a bear. But what if Christopher Robin and Winnie the Pooh grew up together? What would their lives be like today?
The Universal Pictures film, Ted came out during the summer of this year and tells a tale about a grown man and his bear best friend. These two grow up together and shows what life would be like if a child as well as his bear grew up together.
When Christopher Robin and Winnie the Pooh played together, the shenanigans were fairly different from John Bennett and Ted’s hangouts. Winnie the Pooh would eat everyone’s honey; even climb trees to get more. Ted is a huge party-type bear. John and Ted would smoke illegal drugs and drink all day.
Winnie the Pooh’s addiction to honey, could relate to Ted’s addiction to marijuana and drinking and John Bennett, could be Christopher Robin grown up before he left Winnie the Pooh behind and went off to school.
Another similarity between Ted and Winnie the Pooh is that by the end of both movies, the main character has to depart from their best friend and become mature individuals.
There is quite a resemblance between the two movies considering how far apart they were released. The recent movie Ted, could be a representation of what life in general would be like if someone had a bear best friend since their childhood.
