Remember when you were a kid and you hated having to get bundled up in a hat and mitts before playing outside? Your mom would always send you out in something your grandma knitted for you, and mitts that were super-insulated and hard to get on by yourself -but they still kept you warm. The types of hats that appear to be in style this winter season would be the beanie style hat, and of course, the toque. The beanie can either be slouchy or more form-fitting on your head; in the end, it’s just which style you prefer and what’s comfortable for you. As for the toque, one trend that appears to be making a comeback is the traditional pom pom on the top of the hat.

Scarfs are also back in style now this winter season. The classic rectangle scarf is nice and timeless for every winter season. The newer infinity scarf is a loop-style scarf that seems to also be the most popular choice this season.

There has always been a bit of a debate over which works best in the winter: gloves or mitts. Mitts usually have a thumbhole and all of your other fingers in one section of the mitt to keep your hands warm. Meanwhile, gloves have sections for each finger so it is easier to do simple tasks, but they don’t keep your fingers as warm as a mitt. If you want gloves, you should to look for a pair of timeless black leather insolated gloves or a pair of flip mitts, so it is easy to use your fingers if need be. For smartphone addicts out there, you can also buy gloves that will allow you to use touch screens while keeping your hands warm.
